Volunteer

One of the greatest gifts you can give is your time.
Volunteer with us!

We love to see our congregation using their gifts and talents to further God’s kingdom. Whether it’s inside or outside the walls of Maranatha, it’s great to see the love of Jesus in action through volunteering!

Outreach Opportunities:

Tutoring at Canaan Communities
During the school year, a group of adults from Maranatha tutor kids at Canaan Community every Tuesday afternoon. You can help by:

  • Reading with kids
  • Helping kids with homework
  • Providing snack that gets served at tutoring

Want to help? Fill out our contact form.

Kairos Prison Ministry
A few Maranatha members are active participants and leaders in the Kairos Prison Ministry. On designated weekends, they enter the local prison to share God’s love with a select group of men. They’re always looking for additional volunteers.

If you’re not ready to make that large of a commitment, you can help in many other ways:

  • Baking and sorting cookies; the sharing of home-baked cookies makes a significant impact to the prisoners during their weekend program
  • Helping cook in the kitchen during the weekend program
  • Coloring placemats, posters and prayer links prior to the event
  • Attending the closing ceremony to encourage the men, and show the love of the church
  • Making monetary donation to the program

  • Landscaping
  • Serving a meal
  • Fixing bikes for kids

Daily Needs Assistance (DNA)

Here at Maranatha, we are passionate about this ministry, and want to help our community through DNA. Learn about volunteer opportunities on the DNA website.

If you’d like to get a group together from Maranatha to all help out with a DNA event, we’d love to work alongside you. Just fill out our contact form.

Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.
